Partnership with Parents

We at Ladybird Nursery recognises that Parents and Carers are the first educators of their young children. The aim of the Nursery is to support and assist Parents and Carers and Ladybird Nursery will ensure that Parents/Carers are provided with the opportunity to participate in all aspects of the Nursery. Where appropriate, this will include the review and implementation of policing and decision making processes, and the delivery of services to their children.

Ladybird Nursery through this policy and the appointment of professional staff aim to make Parents/Carers feel comfortable in the Nursery and ensure the staff team are friendly, approachable and attentive to their needs and the needs of their children.

We will aim to achieve this by:
• Providing open access at all times to Parents/Carers
• Consulting and seeking guidance from Parents/Carers when planning and
implementing childcare practices
• Having an ‘open invitation’ to Parents/Carers to contribute their own skills, knowledge and interests to work/play with the children alongside key staff in the Nursery
• Ensuring that Parents are given information on a regular basis about their child’s progress and have an opportunity to discuss it with staff and regular developmental
evenings take place
• Giving Parents/Carers access to their children’s records at all times
• Informing all Parents/Carers of the policies, procedures and guidelines the Nursery operates by
• Inviting all Parents/Carers to Nursery events
• Making known to all Parents/Carers the systems for registering queries, complaints or
suggestions
• Implementing a suggestion scheme
• Establishing Parents/Carers channels of communication
• Provide opportunities for Parents/Carers to learn about Ladybird Nursery, the curriculum and about young children’s learning at the Nursery and at home
• Give out information on a daily basis about how they sleep and toileting
• Record and act on information from Parents about a child’s dietary need
