At Ladybird Nursery we ensure the welfare of each and every child by providing a secure and safe environment where children are encouraged to be healthy and active learners. We place a strong emphasis on the health and safety of all children and staff and regularly audit our systems and processes. Monitoring & Development

Key Person

Each child will have a key person who will ensure that the children in their group experience a wide range of activities and experiences. Each key person works in partnership with you to ensure they learn from you as well as letting you know how your child is progressing. Each child will have a special book with examples of the activities they are doing, and the staff will talk to you, at any time, about how your child is doing. EYFS seeks to ensure that whichever nursery parents choose, they can be confident that their child will receive a quality experience that supports their development and learning. The EYFS principles that guide the work of all practitioners are grouped as follows:

A Unique Child

Learning and Development

Recognises that children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates, and that all areas of learning and development are equally important and inter- connected. It is paramount that parents are involved at all stages of their child’s development at the nursery. It is a two-way dialogue to promote children’s well- being. Please help us to establish this relationship by contributing and getting involved as much as possible with our topics and activities.

Development

Here’s how we support and extend children’s learning in the early years.
1. Creative Development Being creative, responding to experiences, expressing & communicating ideas, exploring media & materials (2D & 3D representations), creating music and dance, developing imagination and imaginative play.

It is the policy of Ladybird Nursery to establish close links with parents in order to exchange information and involve parents in their child’s learning and development as parents are the children’s first and most long-term educators. When parents and practitioners work together creating a two-way flow of information, knowledge and expertise the results have a positive impact on the child’s development and learning.
